Doris “Dot” McElroy, 92, passed surrounded by her loving family on February 18, 2024. She was the wife of the late Edward J. McElroy Jr. They had been married for 62 years at his passing.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Albert P. and Aldea (Fontaine) Moreau and stepdaughter of Estelle (Drouin) Moreau.

She had been employed in retail for many years in Pawtucket and East Providence. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Dot”. She was known for her quahog chowder, french meat stuffing, turkey chow mein, marshmallow dessert and rice pie that will be carried on by her kids and in-laws.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Tanguay, her husband Daniel, Edward J. McElroy III, his wife Lynette, Steven M. McElroy, his wife Barbara, and Lisa Lisi, her husband Pat, grandchildren Michael, Melissa her husband Daniel, Edward IV, Justin his wife Kendra, Steven Jr “Ro”, Brian, Geoffrey and Sam, great grandchildren, Catherine, Christopher, Tessa, Abagail, Edward V, Andrew, Isabelle, Matthew, Zoey and Brytten and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Albert O. Moreau, Normand Moreau, Robert Moreau Sr., sisters Jeanne Gallo and Rita Cassella.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 8:30am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary Church, Pine St., Pawtucket. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Friday, February 23, 2024 from 4pm until 7pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the RISPCA. (Rispca.org).
